Bangladesh Honey Hunt

The Sundarbans is the world’s largest mangrove forest and home to the world’s largest bee. This territory is shared with the man-eating Royal Bengal Tiger. For 3 months every year local honey hunters trawl the forests for honey. Fierce bee stings are the least of their worries. On land they are prey to tigers, on water to crocodiles and armed pirates. A season can bring rewards, approximately $250, more than half their annual income. But it comes at a price. 80 honey hunters are mauled to death every year.
