Jellyfish harvest / Palawan

From Feb to March fisherman in Palawan can earn P120-200 daily catching jellyfish. It's tough work; standing for 4 or 5 hours whipping up heavy jellyfish from the sea. Nasty stings are an occupational hazard for the fisherman. Vinegar the only medicine. Back on land wives wait, waist deep in vast vats of alum and sea water curing the jellies. Further down the line an Asian market consumes them and swears by their properties.
